‘No Sane Country Will Accept An Unstable Character’ – Sowore Blasts Fani-Kayode

Nigerian activist, Omoyele Sowore, has described the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, as an unstable character.

He stated this on 𝕏 while reacting to the redeployment of Fani-Kayode to South Africa.

Naija News reports that Fani-Kayode had earlier announced his redeployment and claimed he made the request himself.

“I am pleased to announce that Mr President has graciously approved my appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador-Designate to South Africa,” he said.

Reacting, Sowore urged Nigerians not to take Fani-Kayode seriously, insisting that no sane country would accept someone like him.

He said, “If you trust claims like those from @realFFK, you’re likely to believe almost anything.

“Of course, he is lying; no sane country would accept an unstable character like Femi Fani-Kayode as a diplomat in their country.”

Meanwhile, Sowore has criticised Senate President Godswill Akpabio over comments linked to political defections in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that Sowore questioned Akpabio’s right to speak on the issue, saying his own political record makes him unsuitable to judge others.

Sowore made the remarks during an interview on Symfoni TV while reacting to Akpabio’s comments about a politician, believed to be former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who was said to have defected to different political parties. He argued that Akpabio should not be in a position to attack others on party defections.

According to Sowore, Akpabio himself has changed political parties more than many politicians in the country. He said it is difficult for someone with such a background to question others on loyalty or consistency in politics.

He also noted that party defections have become a normal practice in Nigeria’s political space, driven more by personal interest than by clear ideas or party principles. In his view, this shows that most major parties in the country do not operate on big ideological differences.

“If anybody in this nation has defected more than Akpabio, it is him, in my opinion. What kind of moral clout does he possess?” Sowore stated.
