Zamfara Police Engage Bandits, Arrest Two, Rescue Kidnap Victims

Police in Zamfara has confirmed the abduction of one Mamuda Buhari, a staff of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda and three of his children.

They were abducted at about 2:00 O’clock Monday Morning at their residence on the outskirts of Kaura Namoda Town.

A press statement by the Zamfara police public relations officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, says upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer in the area incollaboration with local vigilante groups, swiftly mobilized and trailed the suspects by following their footprints and coordinated response led to the successful rescue of the three children,while efforts are ongoing to rescue the father unhurt

The statement adds that the rescued children have since been reunited with their family and efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing bandits and secure the safe rescue of the remaining victim

Similarly on the same day at about 1600 hours, Police Tactical Teams on patrol at Mada District in Gusau Local Government Area came under attack by suspected bandits riding on a motorcycle.

The operatives according to police authorities responded decisively, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.

The Command assures members of the public that intensified efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects and dismantle criminal networks operating within the State.
