The meeting, which lasted about 30 minutes, took place at monarch’s residence in Ibadan, the state capital, and came amid a series of controversies involving the state government and the traditional institution.
Speaking briefly with journalists before the meeting, Fayose said he was in Ibadan to show solidarity with the traditional institution.
“I am in Ibadan to identify with the traditional institution. The truth about the whole saga will soon be revealed,” he said.
The visit followed Fayose’s earlier allegation that Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, was plotting to dethrone the Olubadan, a claim that has since generated widespread reactions.
Both the Oyo State Government and the Olubadan’s palace had dismissed the allegation as unfounded and baseless, insisting that there was no rift between the governor and the monarch.

But, current developments pointed otherwise amid reports of an alleged impeachment plot against Governor Makinde by the Oyo State House of Assembly being allegedly instigated by the Olubadan, though details remained unclear.
