UK firm targets Nigerian varsities with SaaS push

A United Kingdom-based technology company, NeTech Business Techniques, has launched a cloud-based software platform aimed at digitising administrative and academic operations in Nigerian universities, as institutions in the country face mounting pressure to modernise their systems.

The platform, known as AIM Support SaaS Software, is designed to integrate core university functions, including admissions, examinations, academic tracking, financial management, and internal communication, into a single digital system.

According to the company, many Nigerian universities continue to rely on manual and fragmented processes that slow down admissions, complicate record management, and limit access to real-time performance data.

“Nigerian universities have immense potential, but the systems currently in place often limit their ability to perform at a global standard,” Public Relations Manager for NeTech Business Techniques in Nigeria, Terngu Shagba, said in a statement.

“This platform is designed to eliminate inefficiencies and support data-driven decision-making.”

The company said the system includes an automated admissions module that allows students to apply and receive decisions remotely, alongside cloud-based storage intended to reduce reliance on physical records.

It also features automated GPA and report generation, lecturer performance monitoring tools, and real-time dashboards for institutional oversight. Financial modules, it said, enable schools to track tuition payments and send automated reminders to students.

NeTech added that the platform supports hybrid learning and online examinations, with tools designed to maintain academic integrity through monitoring systems, while also offering internal messaging features for students and staff.

For multi-campus institutions, the system provides centralised oversight through a single dashboard, allowing administrators to monitor operations across locations remotely.

The company said the software has been adopted by several global institutions and organisations, including JPMorgan Chase, NatWest, and Royal Bank of Scotland, as well as institutions such as the London School of Economics and the University of East London. It also claimed usage by international bodies, including NATO.

NeTech said its expansion into Nigeria reflects growing demand for digital transformation in higher education, adding that universities adopting such systems would be better positioned to improve efficiency, governance and global competitiveness.
