“She gave everything she had, suffered and left too soon” – Actress Rachael Okonkwo writes touching note to late mother on Catholic Mother’s Day

As Catholics all over the world celebrate Mother’s Day, Nollywood actress Rachael Okonkwo has written an emotional note to her mother.

Sharing photos of her beloved mother, she noted how her mother gave her all, even when life gave her little in return. According to her, after her father’s death, her mother became their everything and didn’t stop fighting for them.

She recalled how her mother suffered in ways she didn’t understand and then left too soon. Rachael said her mother was just 53 when she died.

“Catholic Mother’s Day feels different for me
My mother gave everything she had, even when life gave her very little in return. After we lost our father, she became everything: strength, provider, comfort, and love all in one fragile body that never stopped fighting for us.
She suffered in ways we didn’t always understand, but she never let it take away her ability to care, to show up, to be mom in the purest form.
And then she left too soon. 53 feels too young for a woman who carried so much and deserved so much more. Tomorrow, while the world celebrates mothers, I will be remembering mine with gratitude, with pain, and with love that will never fade.
I miss you deeply, Mum.
I carry you in everything I do.
Your strength lives in me.
Your sacrifices will never be forgotten.

The Yoruba actress questioned if her mother came to enslaved people for them, noting how her mother left them at the verge of their breakthrough.

Nosa Rex had remembered his father four years after his demise. Sharing a video collage of himself and his late father, he stated that the pain never goes away as he prays for his father to rest in peace. Nosa expressed how much he misses his parents, promising to keep holding it down for them.

Funke Akindele marked her mother’s 3rd remembrance with an emotional post, describing her as a selfless queen who gave them the best. She noted that her mother’s teachings, knowledge, and discipline shaped who she is today.

IK Ogbonna had written a touching note to his late mother on the 3rd anniversary of her passing. He described her as his first love, revealing that she was the first woman he ever knew or experienced love with. Ogbonna noted how time flies and affirmed his love for her.

While celebrating her mother’s first remembrance, Biola Bayo had sent a message to those insulting or hating her for not helping people to remember she is an orphan and a single mom. Biola stated that this isn’t what she wants or envisages, but what life throws at her, and she is gracefully carrying her cross, knowing fully well that God will never abandon her.
