Pay-TV operator, Multichoice Nigeria Limited, has informed its subscribers of an upcoming price adjustment for its DStv and GOtv packages. The price revision, set to be implemented from May 1, 2024, is a response to the changing business landscape in Nigeria.
The Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice, John Ugbe, signed the notification, which was distributed to customers through email, stating that the cost increase stems from a rise in operational expenses in the country.
Effective from the specified date, the Premium DStv package will see a monthly subscription fee increase to N37,000 from the current N29,500.
Additionally, the Compact+ bouquet cost will go up to N25,000, up from N19,800, while the Compact package will be priced at N15,700, as opposed to the present N12,500.
Other DStv packages that will experience price modifications include the Confam package, which will now be charged at N9,300, up from N7,400, the Yanga bouquet at N5,100 compared to the previous N4,200, Padi at N3,600 instead of N2,950, and HDPVR Access at N5,000 from N4,000.
Turning to the GOtv packages, subscribers of the Supa Plus package will be required to pay N15,700, increased from N12,500 with the Supa bouquet costing N9,600, raised from N7,600. GOtv Max will see a new monthly fee of N7,200, up from N5,700, while the Jolli package will be hiked to N4,850 from N3,950. The Jinja package price will also go up to N3,300, with Smallie being adjusted to N1,575.
This announcement comes after Multichoice previously adjusted subscription fees twice over the past year, reflecting the company’s efforts to balance costs and service offerings in the Nigerian market.
