Kayode Akintemi bags award in London

Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of News Central TV, Kayode Akintemi, has been recognised as one of the 100 Most Reputable Africans for 2026, further cementing his standing in the continent’s media landscape.

The award was presented at a gala ceremony held on April 24, 2026, at the London Marriott County Hall, bringing together notable figures from across Africa and the diaspora.

The recognition highlights Akintemi’s leadership in journalism, his commitment to ethical media practice, and his role in shaping African storytelling on a global stage. It also reflects his over 35 years of experience in broadcast media and his reputation for transparent and credible leadership.

Under his stewardship, News Central TV has grown into a prominent pan-African news platform, known for amplifying diverse voices across the continent and facilitating global conversations on key issues.

As part of the event, Akintemi also chaired a panel session titled “Sound, Story, and Soft Power: How Media and Entertainment Shape Global Reputation and Public Trust.” The session featured global experts, including Mark Bowater, Wouter Kellerman, Cobus Visser, and Harry Burns.

Discussions at the panel focused on the evolving role of media and entertainment in shaping public perception, strengthening global reputation, and driving development opportunities across Africa. Panellists also explored the importance of trust, storytelling, and cultural influence in an increasingly interconnected world.
