The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the technical processes towards restoration of 20 court-ordered suppressed state constituencies in Kogi, Benue, Delta and Jigawa states.

In a memo sent to the resident electoral commissioners by the secretary of the commission, Dr. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, on Thursday, the technical process involves stakeholders engagement at the state head office and fieldwork at the affected constituencies.
The exercise, the memo explained, is aimed at obtaining relevant relevant geographical and demographic data necessary for the production and validation of constituency maps and other technical documents.
The memo listed affected constituencies in Kogi as – Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Ankpa, Bassa, Dekina, Ofu, Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, and Kogi (Koton Karfe).

Sequel to the memo, the Kogi State INEC office has called for stakeholder engagement in the state.
In a statement signed by Head of Department, General Administration and Procurement, Abisabo Yahaya, said the stakeholder engagement towards restoration of suppressed state constituencies in Kogi state is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the INEC state office by 10am prompt.
