“I’m pursuing my master’s in the UK” – Davido announces as he takes break from music (Video)

Nigerian music star Davido has joined the list of celebrities earning degrees despite their fame.

In a recent interview, the singer of ‘ Dami Duro ‘ announced plans to begin a Master’s degree in Political Science at a university in the UK.

The Babcock University graduate said he would be putting music on hold and wouldn’t drop an album till he is done.

Davido already holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Babcock University (2015) and was awarded an honorary doctorate in music from Clifford University in 2025.

Actress Juliana Olayode had bagged a degree in Therapy and counselling. She expressed excitement and reintroduced herself to the world, listing her achievements.

Last year, Davido along side his 30bg and Cubana Chief Priest had stormed Abia State, where he commissioned the hostel in Clifford University. Davido said that the hostel is for her and every young African chasing their dreams, and who believes they can rise higher, together.

Davido would add to the list of celebrities getting a degree despite their status.

Late last year, Jide Awobona obtained his master’s degree 15 years after completing his first degree. He noted that, despite all odds, he managed to do it. Jide noted how his latest achievement was proof that education is a lifelong journey.

Also, last year, BBNaija star, Mercy Eke had officially graduated from the University of Sunderland, UK, with a Master of Business Administration.

Sharing a clip from her graduation ceremony, noting that she had secured another degree despite popular opinion. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who pushed her through the tough moments.

In 2024, Ubi Franklin had bagged a law degree. The talent manager recounted his bitter-sweet experience as he penned a heartfelt note to Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, Davido, his wife, Chioma, and others for their unwavering support and encouragement.

Not done Ubi, earned a second Law degree from the University of Essex, United Kingdom. Ubi expressed gratitude to his Maker as he shared a video from his graduation ceremony.

Regina Daniels had bagged a bachelor in Psychology from a University in Mexico. Regina stated that the degree is a testament to her countless hours of hard work, determination, resilience, and God’s love. The mother of two expressed pride in herself as she asserted that she was God’s favorite.

Yoruba actress, Lola Magret had bagged a degree. The Yoruba actress shared a photo of her in her graduation gown as she stated that grace found her.

Yoruba actor, Akeem Adeyemi, bagged a Master’s Degree in International Business from the United Kingdom. Akeem Adeyemi shared the delightful news on his Instagram page with cheering words to mark the new milestone in his career.

Wumi Toriola, in 2023, announced the completion of her Master’s Degree at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology with a grateful message to her friends.

Also, Jumoke Odetola had bagged a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Sharing photos from her graduation ceremony, she noted how she started well and now had finished successfully.

Gospel singer, Lanre Teriba bagged his first degree from Boston University, Massachusetts, USA. Though he didn’t disclose his course of study, he expressed gratitude to his creator as he stated that finally he made it.

Fuji Maestro, Shared Osupa revealed that he was officially a graduate of the University of Ibadan where he bagged a Second Class Upper Credit from the Department of Political Science.
