How drug addict found Christ during my ministration — Bola Discovery

Gospel artiste, Bola Discovery, has said her lifelong passion for music and early exposure to church choir shaped her journey into ministry.

Speaking in an interview, the singer recounted how her musical journey began at a young age, inspired largely by her mother’s involvement in church activities.

“I’ve always loved singing and listening to music. I used to follow my mum to choir rehearsals because of that love,” she said.

According to her, a defining moment came at the age of six when her talent was discovered during a rehearsal at the Christ Apostolic Church.

“I was allowed to join the adult choir, even though it went against the church’s standards at the time, because my alto part was needed for a choir anniversary. That experience really shaped me,” she stated.

Since then, she has remained active in church ministry, particularly within the choir, where she has continued to grow as both a singer and a leader.

She explained that her preparation for major ministrations involves both spiritual and creative discipline, including prayer, studying the Bible, and occasional fasting.

“I prepare myself for God’s use so He can take over. I’m just a vessel. My desire is that people encounter God through salvation, healing, encouragement, and upliftment,” she added.

Reflecting on a memorable moment that reaffirmed her calling, Bola Discovery recounted an encounter during a vigil ministration.

She said a man, believed to be struggling with drug addiction, was drawn into the church during their performance. After returning multiple times, he eventually broke down in repentance.

“He knelt down, held my feet, and cried out to God for forgiveness. We were singing songs about God’s mercy, and he stayed at the altar for over an hour, weeping,” she recalled.

According to her, the man later gave his life to Christ and was handed over to the church for follow-up.
