EPL: Merson picks fixture that will decide title winners

Former England midfielder, Paul Merson, has said Arsenal’s next Premier League clash against Fulham will determine who wins the title.

The Gunners narrowly beat Newcastle 1-0 on Saturday, to move three points clear of Manchester City.

Before then, Mikel Arteta’s men had lost consecutive matches to Bournemouth and City.

But going into the final four games of this season, they are still neck-on-neck with Pep Guardiola’s team in the title race.

Their final four fixtures are against Fulham, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Burnley.

“If Arsenal win next week against Fulham at home, Arsenal will win the league,” Merson said on Sky Sports.

“That’s what I think. I’ve said all season that they’ll win it. It is getting tight, but I think if they can go six points clear… Everton away is a difficult game for Man City when six points behind.”
