Adeleke varsity secures NUC accreditation for 22 courses

The National Universities Commission has granted full accreditation to Adeleke University, Ede, for 22 undergraduate programmes presented during the commission’s October/December 2025 accreditation exercise.

The announcement was contained in a formal statement issued by the institution’s management on Wednesday.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Solomon Adebola, disclosed the development during a recent meeting with the university community.

He noted that the approval was officially conveyed in a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC.

According to the vice-chancellor, the successful outcome was the result of a rigorous evaluation of the institution’s resources.

“The accreditation followed a series of comprehensive human and facility assessments carried out by the NUC team during the exercise. It serves as a validation of our efforts to provide a world-class learning environment,” Adebola said.

The accredited programmes span various disciplines, including Finance, Office and Information Management, Public Administration, Nursing Science, English Language and Literary Studies, Religious Studies, History and International Studies, and Mass Communication.

The university’s growing strength in technology was also highlighted, with full accreditation granted to Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Software Engineering.

In the field of Engineering, Chemical, Civil, and Computer Engineering received approval, alongside Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Food Science and Nutrition.

Adebola further clarified the timeline for the new status, stating, “The accreditation is valid for a period of five years.”

In addition to the 22 programmes, the university management highlighted the recent approval of two flagship professional courses: the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and the Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Pharm) programmes in the Faculties of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, respectively.

Prof Adebola expressed his gratitude to the faculty and support staff for their roles in reaching this milestone.

“I must commend our members of staff for their dedication and commitment to the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence.

“This achievement is firmly enshrined in our motto: Education, Excellence, and Character,” he said.
