Jamil-Isyaku Gwamna on Wednesday formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Gwamna submitted his letter of intent on Wednesday at both the ward and local government levels, in line with the party’s procedures.
Speaking at a brief ceremony at the APC state secretariat in Gombe, the aspirant said his ambition is driven by what he described as a “New Vision for Continuity and Sustainability.”
“My decision to run is anchored on a New Vision for Continuity and Sustainability.
“It is about consolidating on existing achievements while introducing innovative policies that will guarantee long-term development and inclusive growth,” he said.
He pledged to prioritise good governance, transparency, and people-oriented leadership if elected.
“By the grace of God, our administration will focus on peace, unity, economic growth, youth and women empowerment, and sustainable infrastructural development,” Gwamna added.
He called on party members and the electorate to support his aspiration, saying, “I urge party faithful, supporters, and the general public to rally behind this vision as we begin the journey towards a more prosperous and sustainable Gombe State.”

In his response, the Gombe State Chairman of the APC, Mohammed Ndus, welcomed the development and wished the aspirant success.
“We wish Dr. Gwamna well in his ambition. However, unity among our members remains critical to securing victory for the APC at all levels in the forthcoming elections,” Ndus said.
