Former Yellow Greens stalwart, Leke Oyede, and current captain of the team, Sylvestre Okpe, were among the winners of individual awards at the recently concluded 2025/26 Club Cricket Committee Lagos League, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association Cricket Club dethroned Rising Stars Cricket Club to win the Premier League division on Sunday, while Government College Ughelli Cricket Club claimed the Division One title.
Island Titans Cricket Club were crowned champions of the 40-over tournament, while Ikorodu Queens Cricket Club also emerged winners of the women’s title.
The spotlight also fell on outstanding individual performances, particularly the Most Valuable Players across the various divisions.
In the Women’s League, Eboka Teniola of Warriors Cricket Club emerged as the standout performer, claiming the MVP, Best Bowler, and Best Batter awards, while Temitope Onikoyi of Pathfinders Cricket Club was named Best Fielder.
In the 40-over tournament, former Yellow Greens player Leke Oyede, who is now part of the team’s technical crew, distinguished himself as the MVP and Best Bowler for Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club. Rahmon Ali of Island Titans Cricket Club was named Best Batter, while Usman Adebiyi of Rocks of Abeokuta Cricket Club won the Best Fielder award.

The Division One league saw Vikas Choubey of Thunderbolt Cricket Club rise above his peers to claim the MVP title, while Yellow Greens captain Sylvestre Okpe of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Cricket Club was named MVP and Best Batter of the Premier League.
Chief Marketing Officer of Sterling Bank, Donatus Okpako, expressed satisfaction with the league’s progress and organisational quality, and pledged the bank’s continued partnership.
President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Uyi Akpata, and Lagos State Cricket Association Chairman, Charles Omoeira, also applauded the CCC leadership for their commitment to advancing cricket.
CCC League Chairman, Endurance Ofem, expressed gratitude to sponsors, stakeholders, and participating clubs, crediting the collective effort of all involved for the league’s success. He also assured attendees of an even more improved season ahead.
