Young Female Social Enterpreneur Antonia Agbede-Ally Joins APC Race For Cross River Reps Seat

A prominent social entrepreneur, Antonia Agbede-Ally, has formally joined the race for the Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal Constituency seat in Cross River State, as contest for a seat in the House of Representatives has gained momentum ahead of 2027 elections.

In a statement issued on Monday by her Media Secretary, Adebola Bolatito, Agbede-Ally confirmed that she has picked up her Expression of Interest and Nomination forms under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), drawing support from party faithful and constituents.

She said her decision to join the race reflected her commitment to delivering what she described as “impact-driven representation” for the people of Cross River North.

“We stand together as one voice, a community united, a community clamouring for justice, fairness, and inclusion. That call is clear—women must be represented in our constituency,” she said.

Highlighting the contributions of women across the constituency, Ally stressed the need for greater inclusion in governance.

“From the marketplaces to the schools, from the farms to the offices, our women have carried the weight of progress in our constituency. They have nurtured families, built businesses, and led community initiatives. Yet, when decisions are made at the legislative chamber, their voices are missing,” she added.

Agbede-Ally noted that her background in the non-profit sector positions her to bring a development-focused approach to lawmaking, particularly in areas such as healthcare, youth empowerment and sustainable community growth.

She said her entry into the race introduces a strong voice aligned with the growing demand for people-centred representation in the constituency.

Her declaration, she added, further expands the list of aspirants within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting the stage for a competitive contest.

Agbede-Ally, who is the founding Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the HOW Foundation, said she has spent over a decade championing initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable populations.

She also referenced the launch of the Agbede Foundation in Obudu in late 2025, describing it as part of her continued grassroots engagement. The foundation focuses on vocational training, healthcare delivery and education for underserved communities.

A graduate of Business Management and Marketing from Brunel University London, Ally began her professional career in sales and marketing in the private sector before transitioning into social development.
