Why I can’t date Nigerian celebrities – Tems

Grammy-winning singer Tems has explained why she does not see herself pursuing romantic relationships with Nigerian male celebrities.

Speaking during an interview at the BET Awards, Tems was asked whether she would approach Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, if given the opportunity.

In response, the “Love Me Jeje” singer said that the fact they are both Nigerians makes it difficult for her to view him romantically.

Tems added that she is generally not interested in dating fellow Nigerian celebrities because she sees them as “brothers.”

“I know who Maduka Okoye is but I don’t know him personally. I wish I did though. But shooting shots at him, we don’t do that over here.

“We [Nigerian celebrities] friend each others and we are family. I see my male colleagues as brothers,” she said.
