A HOSPICE nurse was declared missing after she failed to pick up her daughter from her babysitter.
As police investigated Tricia Todd’s homicide, her ex-husband, Steven Williams, was arrested in connection to her case.

Who was Tricia Todd?
Born on February 19, 1986, Tricia Todd was a nurse and mother from Stuart, Florida.
A Central Carolina Tech College graduate, Tricia worked at Treasure Coast Hospice.
She was also a US Air Force veteran deployed in Kuwait and Iraq.
She is survived by her only daughter Faith, her parents, and her seven brothers.
In a tribute to Tricia’s memory, her family stated: “Tricia’s life was a testimony of God’s grace and mercy.
“We will miss her vibrant love of life, her servant’s heart, and her beautiful smile.
“Tricia’s little girl was blessed with a loving mother and we will make sure that she knows just how much her Mommy loved her every day.
“She is in a safe, healthy home environment, and being surrounded with the love of her family.”
What happened to Tricia?
On May 27, 2016, 30-year-old Tricia was found dead in Indiantown, Florida.
She had been missing since April 26 of the abovementioned year.
Her remains were discovered in an acid-filled barrel in a shallow grave in the town’s Hungryland Wildlife Management Area.
Tricia’s cause of death was ruled to be asphyxiation.

On May 25, 2016, Tricia’s ex-husband, Steven Williams, confessed to murdering her and disposing of her body.
According to Williams, he was planning Tricia’s homicide for some time.
He confessed to luring Tricia to an Airbnb under the roose that their two-year-old daughter was feeling ill.
When Tricia arrived at the Airbnb property, Williams strangled her.
However, he waited to kill her so he could retrieve her email login information.
To make up an alibi, Williams planned to email Tricia’s family and tell them she was on a mission trip in Haiti.
When the victim regained consciousness, Williams clubbed her and strangled her to death.
Upon his confession and agreement to lead investigators to where he buried Tricia, Williams was able to avoid the death penalty.
When was Steven Williams sentenced?
On September 30, 2016, Williams was sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder and child neglect.
Tricia’s case is revisited in an episode of ABC’s 20/20 titled The Hungryland Homicide.
On May 3, 2024, The Hungryland Homicide is scheduled to air at 9 pm via ABC.
