Who was Mica Miller and what was her cause of death?

A CHURCH leader’s family was left to mourn her memory when her life was suddenly cut short.

Since her death, Mica Miller’s loved ones have advised police to further investigate her case.

Who was Mica Miller?

Born on March 7, 1994, Mica Miller was a graphic designer and a women’s ministry leader from Wichita, Kansas.

Based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she was married to Pastor John-Paul Miller, and was a stepmother to his five children.

She and John-Paul oversaw the Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach.

Mica’s loved ones remember her as “energetic, affirming, adventurous, faithful, loving, giving, forgiving, talented, joyous, creative, assertive, bold, determined, authoritative, passionate, hardworking, a risk taker, and so much more.

“Mica was a great stepmother, and an amazing wife, and helpmate.

“She looked forward to every text from her father or brother.

“She sought every opportunity to pour into her sisters.

“Mica made the greatest of efforts to always be the best wife she could be.

“And she did all of this with the upmost integrity and faithfulness.”

She is survived by her husband, her four sisters, one brother.

What was Mica’s cause of death?

On April 27, 2024, 30-year-old Mica succumbed to injuries from a gunshot wound and died.

According to her husband John-Paul, the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

However, police officials have not confirmed her husband’s statement.

“She [Mica] had struggled with suicide before,” John-Paul told Solid Rock’s congregation.

“She battled suicide, but God took care of her and got her through it.

“You all knew she wasn’t well mentally and she needed medicine that was hard to get to her.”

In the wake of Mica’s passing, her friends have disputed reports that her death was a suicide.

Mica’s friend Kenn Young shared with WPDE: “This has to be at least looked into deeply.

“There’s got to be some accountability here, because yeah, a tragic life was lost, and it’s not just as simple as mental health issues.”
