AN EXOTIC dancer’s life was tragically cut short when she was found strangled to death in her home.
As police investigated Liliya Guyvoronsky’s homicide, they arrested James McNeal in connection to the case.

Who is James McNeal?
James McNeal is a politician from Seattle, Washington.
McNeal served as a city council member for Bothell, which is located in the abovementioned area.
He was in office from 2015 to 2023 and lost his bid for reelection during the latter year.
McNeal said of his career: “It’s been my honor to serve our community on council.
“We had challenges, but when we did, I always supported what I thought was best for all of the community.
“In addition, I have represented our community on 11 different regional boards, building relationships for Bothell, getting regional funds.”
Why was McNeal arrested?
On April 30, 2024, McNeal was arrested in connection to 20-year-old Liliya Guyvoronsky’s homicide investigation.
According to legal documents, McNeal’s attorney contacted the police about Guyvoronsky’s death.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, McNeal’s lawyer contacted him and asked him to come outside.
After the former councilman was detained, he was transported to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries.
McNeal was taken to the abovementioned hospital so he could be treated for wounds that appeared to be self-inflicted cuts to his wrists.

According to investigators, Guyvoronsky’s cause of death appears to be asphyxiation.
However, an official autopsy report has yet to be released.
