Who is Jack Callahan and what is he accused of?
On September 24, 2021, Jack Callahan was arrested for his 57-year-old father Scott’s murder.
For his alleged role in the elder Callahan’s homicide, Jack was charged with murder; he pleaded not guilty.
On June 28 of the abovementioned year, Scott was found dead at a nearby pond.
According to prosecutors, Jack was taking Scott home when his mother, Wendy, informed him the former was intoxicated.

The father and son were going home via Uber, but the trip was cut short when Jack requested the driver pull over.
Per Jack’s police statement, Scott repeatedly struck him throughout the night.
Their alleged physical altercation escalated when the younger Callahan attempted to exorcise his father in a pond, according to police.
Legal documents mentioned that Jack believed Scott was possessed by an alcoholic and demonic spirit named Dirty Dan.
“I left him there to decide, you can come to heaven with me or hell. I think he chose hell,” he said to law enforcement.
At Jack’s arraignment, the Plymouth Assistant District Attorney told the court: “He indicated that the victim had been punching him in the face.
“He went on to state that in this incident at the pond, he believed he was baptizing his father.
“He described that he was holding his father in the pond on his back like a baby, that he continually dunked the father’s head in the water about four to eight times, that when the father started to cough and choke, he would lift his head up.
“Then, when the father started to fight and strike him, he would push the head back into the water.
“He did so until his father was no longer struggling and floating.
“The medical examiner’s office has determined that the victim had waterlogged lungs.”

When is Callahan’s trial?
On April 8, 2024, Jack’s trial for Scott’s murder began its proceedings at Plymouth County Superior Court in Massachusetts.
Throughout its proceedings, he has maintained his innocence.
