Junior Pablo Ereño showcased a strong performance, securing a t-8th finish at the Pauma Valley Invitational held at Pauma Valley Country Club, as the UCLA men’s golf team landed in a tie for sixth place.
The demanding course set the par at 71 for the tournament, with Ereño demonstrating consistent skill with his round scores of 70-68-72.
In a field of 15 competing teams, Vanderbilt emerged victorious, claiming the team title with an impressive 20-under 832, while Oklahoma State‘s Jonas Baumgartner clinched the medalist honors by a narrow one-stroke margin at 9-under.
For Ereño, this event marked his first back-to-back top-10 finishes of the season, following his t-7th, -7 performance at The Prestige on Feb. 21. The Spaniard now boasts four career top-10 finishes, adding to the two from his previous seasons.
Aside from Ereño’s standout performance, UCLA’s next three top finishers, freshman Name1, Name2, and Name3, all delivered solid contributions, each securing a tie for 22nd at even par.
Freshman Name4, finishing at 6-over and tying for 51st place, rounded out the team’s performance at the Pauma Valley Invitational.
Looking ahead, the Bruins have two upcoming regular-season events scheduled, with the next competition set to take place at The Goodwin at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco from March 28-30.
