[VIDEO] UCL: F1 legend Lewis Hamilton backs Arsenal against PSG

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has sent a personal video message of support to Arsenal ahead of their 2026 UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, expressing long-standing emotional ties to the club and urging the squad to “keep pushing” ahead of the Wembley showdown.

In the 67-second clip, shared via Ferrari’s official account on Friday afternoon, Hamilton addressed the team directly with an emotional message: “Hey guys, it’s Lewis here.

“This is to the team, Arsenal — my team. I’m so proud of you guys… As a fan since I was five years old, this is my favourite moment…

“Keep pushing, keep believing in yourself. I’ll be right there with you and watching this final. So just go out, have fun. You’re already the G.O.A.T.s.”

The message quickly circulated among Arsenal supporters, who praised the gesture online, describing it as “pure class” and responding with comments such as “Lewis is one of us” and “COYG from the Scuderia.”

Hamilton’s connection to Arsenal dates back to his childhood in Stevenage, where he began supporting the North London club at the age of five, encouraged by his sister.

The seven-time world champion has frequently spoken about his attachment to the team and the role it has played in his upbringing and identity.

Reflecting on Arsenal’s recent Premier League triumph, Hamilton previously said: “We’ve had so many close moments and to finally get it was ‘wow’.”

He added: “A lot of emotion came up for me, as I’m sure for so many people, they’re just so happy and proud of the team.

“Obviously Arsène was great. I think the direction they’ve gone in the past couple years has been just fantastic so very inspired by what they’ve done.

“Really, really proud of the team and I think they can go from strength to strength from here and only get stronger.”

Hamilton was 19 years old in 2004 when Arsenal last won the Premier League under Arsène Wenger, going the entire season unbeaten while Hamilton was still competing in Formula 3 and yet to make his Formula 1 debut.

The club also carries deep Champions League history, including the 2006 final in Paris against Barcelona, where Arsenal were reduced to 10 men after Jens Lehmann’s red card but still took the lead through Sol Campbell.

Late goals from Samuel Eto’o and Juliano Belletti, however, sealed a 2–1 win for Barcelona and left Arsenal narrowly short of their first European crown.

Arsenal now face Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday night’s final, as they attempt once again to secure their first UEFA Champions League title.
