According to the Metropolitan Police, the suspects were apprehended during coordinated operations at three separate addresses across the UK capital.
Authorities said one of the suspects is an Iranian national, while the remaining three are dual British-Iranian citizens.
In a statement, the head of counterterrorism policing at the Metropolitan Police, Helen Flanagan, described the arrests as part of a wider investigation that has been ongoing for some time.
She acknowledged that the development might cause concern among members of the public, particularly those within the Jewish community.
“We understand the public may be concerned, in particular the Jewish community, and as always, I would ask them to remain vigilant and if they see or hear anything that concerns them, then to contact us,” she said.
Police also disclosed that six additional men were arrested at one of the locations on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The suspects have been taken into custody as investigations continue.

British security agencies have repeatedly warned about what they describe as increasing threats linked to Iran operating within the United Kingdom.
Officials say the threats have intensified amid heightened geopolitical tensions, particularly as Iran remains locked in a conflict involving the United States and Israel.
Britain’s domestic intelligence agency, MI5, has previously warned lawmakers about the scale of the threat.
In October, the agency’s director-general, Ken McCallum, revealed that British security services had uncovered more than 20 potentially lethal Iran-backed plots within the previous year.
Security officials say individuals previously targeted by Iranian-linked operations in the UK include Iranian dissidents, journalists and other critics of the Iranian government.
