Transfer: Arsenal send £55m bid for Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal have held talks over a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to reports in the Sun.

The Premier League champions are keen to bolster their midfield ahead of a title defecne.

And they have identified Guimaraes as one of the players that can either complement or replace Declan Rice.

It is understood they have tested the waters with an offer around £55million, which Newcastle turned down.

Guimaraez has two years left on his deal at St James’ Park.

The Brazil international joined Eddie Howe’s side in 2022 from Lyon for an initial £35m and has made 195 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals.
