Nollywood actor and former BBNaija star Uti Nwachukwu has written an emotional tribute to his colleague and friend, Alex Ekubo.

Kemi Filani reported on Tuesday that the light-skinned actor had passed away on Monday, May 11th, after a battle with Cancer and was 40 years old.

In a heartbreaking statement, his family announced that the actor had passed away after a brief but courageous battle. According to the statement, he passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

In a lengthy post, he said he can’t put his thoughts together and is angry, drained, sad, and devastated. He described the deceased as his best friend for years and recounted some of their memories together.

Uti noted that Alex was consistently bullied yet stayed strong and above it. He said he has to hold himself back from giving people a piece of his mind, but he had to remind himself that he always wanted peace.

A heartbroken Uti added that they have too many memories even to begin to mention. He said nobody will ever understand the brotherhood they shared.

“I still cannot put my thoughts together.
I am angry. I am devastated. I am sad. I am confused. I AM DRAINED. You were my best friend for years.
Alexx! Na so? It felt like you were sleeping! I felt like if I tapped your shoulder, you would laugh, wake up, and say, “PSYCHE!!!”. See how Una de cry ! And then we’d all laugh and say, ” No, try this nonsense again, oh! Your signature smile on your face as you slept gave me some solace that you truly are in a better place. I never thought I’d ever have to type these words, brother.
