Target shoppers slam new security that has them waiting 15mins for deodorant – and vow to ‘give Daddy Bezos my money’

A FED-UP Target shopper has vowed to take their business elsewhere if the retailer continues to lock up everyday items.

Target has continued to receive an onslaught of backlash regarding its anti-theft method.

“It’s all locked up,” Corey Potter told The Los Angeles Times.

“I hate it,” she said while describing the locked shelves at her local Target.

Potter recalled waiting 15 minutes for an employee to unlock the shelf at another location.

However, she warned if she sees people waiting for doors to be unlocked, she’ll take her business elsewhere.

“Rather than go to Target and wait, I’ll just give Daddy Bezos my hard-earned cash,” the shopper said, referring to Amazon owner Jeff Bezos.

Target locks a slew of everyday items behind plexiglass doors including socks, underwear, jeans, laundry detergent, and baby formula.

Other merchandise under lock and key includes vitamins, lotion, skincare, make-up, and razors.

But the retailer is not the only store on the self-locking bandwagon.

Stores including Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and Dollar Tree are just a few taking on the anti-theft protocol.

“Locking a product is a measure of last resort,” a CVS spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times.

Customers have not been shy about expressing their hatred for locked shelves.

“It’s hard to shop in Target with everything all locked up,” one person shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One person commented on the tweet saying how long it takes for a shelf to be unlocked.

“Man, then they take forever to come when you activate the sensor for help,” the user wrote.

“This sounds super inconvenient.”

Potter was not the first shopper to shop elsewhere after they were inconvenienced.

After Target changed its self-checkout policy, limiting the number of items, customers were in an uproar.

“@Target Closing self-checkout? Target in Grass Valley had the self-checkout closed and only 2 registers open,” wrote an X user.

“Cashier told me self-checkout is closed until 11 am each day now.”

The shopper claimed the self-checkout machines were closed and only two employees were at the cash registers, causing “ridiculously long” lines.

“I guess I’ll shop more @Amazon,” they wrote.
