Steven Spielberg Raves About ‘Dune: Part Two’ in Conversation with Denis Villeneuve

During a recent episode of the Director’s Cut podcast by DGA, legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg showered commendations on Denis Villeneuve, particularly praising his work on ‘Dune: Part Two‘.

Spielberg described the film as one of the most brilliant science-fiction creations he has ever witnessed and commended Villeneuve for his craftsmanship in world-building, placing him amongst the esteemed directors in that realm.

The conversation between Spielberg and Villeneuve extended to specific scenes in the film, with Spielberg singling out the sandworm riding sequence as a standout moment which he deemed as one of the greatest he has ever seen.

Villeneuve revealed that the filming of the sandworm sequence took 44 days, with meticulous attention paid to ensure the audience was fully immersed in the experience, blurring the lines between reality and fiction.

‘Dune: Part Two’ has been highly successful both critically and commercially, nearing a $240 million domestic gross and exceeding $570 million globally, continuing to draw audiences into its immersive world as it screens in theaters nationwide by Warner Bros.
