So This Happened (207) reviews subsidy removal, Adedoyin’s death sentence, other

In this episode of So This Happened, we reviewed the sudden increase in the price of petrol. The price increased from N185 to as high as N700 in some states after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidy on May 29, 2023.

We also reviewed the sentencing of the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Dr Ramon Adedoyin and two other staff of the hotel, Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde. They were sentenced to death by hanging by the Chief Judge of Osun State High Court, Justice Adepele, for the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a former master’s degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University.

Lastly, we discussed the case of 24-year-old Idris Bakare who was allegedly killed by a police bullet on patrol during a street fight on Oregun Road, Lagos.
