Mint’s mother, Caterina Fake, reported the child missing on Monday, Marin County Sheriff Sergeant Adam Schermerhorn told The San Francisco Standard.

Sheriff officials added that Mint has an address in San Francisco and frequently visits the crime-ridden Tenderloin neighborhood.

Matt Dorsey, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, believes the teen is in or around the Tenderloin area.

Mint is about 5 feet tall and weighs around 100 pounds.

The 16-year-old has brown-reddish, curly hair and pierced eyebrows, police said.

Mint was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants, and black boots and was believed to be carrying a gray suitcase.

Journalist Yashar Ali pleaded for the public’s help on behalf of his friend, writing on X, formerly Twitter, “I don’t ask for your help often, but I need it now.

“My friend’s 16-year-old has gone missing. Please spread this far and wide, and if you have any information about their whereabouts, call the number on this flyer.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

Mint’s parents, Stewart Butterfield and Caterina Fake, co-founded the image-hosting website Flickr in 2004 before selling it to Yahoo in 2005.

Fake has received multiple awards, including 2005’s Bloomberg Businessweek’s Best Leaders and Forbes’ 2005 eGang, and was listed on the 2006 edition of Time Magazine’s Time 100.

The couple divorced in 2008 after seven years of marriage.

In 2013, Stewart co-founded the instant messaging platform Slack.

He sold the communications company to Salesforce in 2021 for $27 billion.

Since then, he has ventured into buying luxury real estate properties with his current wife, Jennifer Rubio, co-founder of travel accessory brand Away.
