ANIMAL rescuers initially feared the worst after they found the vultures who seemed too sick to fly, but turned out to have consumed too much alcohol.
Over the weekend, two vultures were found by Animal Control in Connecticut and were quickly rushed to the animal rehabilitation center, A Place Called Hope.

At first, the animal rehab thought that the vultures were dying.
However, after doing a few tests and “ruling everything else out,” they realized they weren’t sick at all, according to their Facebook post.
“They were literally drunk,” the wildlife rehabilitators said.
The tipsy birds were not able to keep their balance or stand, and kept passing out.
The animal experts believe the two vultures had been eating from a dumpster and gotten ” themselves into something that was fermented enough to cause severe intoxication.”
They believe it could have been fermented fruit from a cocktail, which made it so the birds couldn’t even get back to their flock.
“Birds don’t let other birds fly drunk,” A Place Called Hope said.
“This dynamic duo had each other’s backs, but I don’t know if any lessons were learned on their end.”
The vultures were able to sleep at the facility and make a full recovery to join their colony.
“They only needed fluids and to be tucked in overnight … and fed a BIG breakfast the next day,” the organization said.
While the birds were luckily ok, the organization wants people to be careful about how they discard things in the future.
“Enjoy and remember, your cocktail fruit that ends up in a dumpster can end up intoxicating wildlife if the dumpster is not kept closed.
“Drunk vultures are not easy patients, just saying,” the staff added.
‘MOST EXCLUSIVE GUEST’
A yellow-billed loon in Las Vegas also got itself into trouble after it was seen swimming in Lake Bellagio, forcing the Bellagio hotel to stop its fountain show.
“We are happy to welcome the most exclusive guests,” a spokesperson for the Bellagio hotel wrote on X(formerly known as Twitter.)
“The Fountains of Bellagio are paused as we work with state wildlife officials to rescue a Yellow-billed Loon, one of the 10 rarest birds in the U.S., that has found comfort on Las Vegas’ own Lake Bellagio.”
Birders in the area called for wildlife officials to help remove the rare bird, Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesperson, Doug Nielson told AP.
It was believed that the yellow-billed loon stopped at the hotel after a storm occurred.
Plus it’s not uncommon for these birds to visit the area.
“They normally nest around the Arctic Circle and winter in Canada, the U.S., Norway, or Siberia,” said Kurt Buzard, a bird spotter.
“I think it’s lost and probably disoriented.”
