In a letter dated February 19, 2026, addressed to the Ward Chairman of Mayo-Belwa (Mbilla) Ward in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Adamawa State, the senator cited the “fractured state” of the party at the national level as the reason for his decision. He expressed gratitude for the opportunities the PDP provided, which enabled him to contest and win elections in 2019 and 2023 to represent the people of Adamawa South in the Senate.

The letter, with copies sent to the Local Government and State Party Chairmen, took immediate effect. Senator Yaroe wished the party success in its efforts to repair the damage he believes has been inflicted upon it.

In a statement accompanying the development, the senator said: “After many years of fruitful journey as a committed member of PDP, it pains me that PDP has elected to self destruct at the national level. In consequence, I have very little choice than to withdraw my membership of the Party at this point. I have today submitted my withdrawal letter to my Ward Chairman, Mayo-Belwa (Mbilla) Ward, with copies to the Local Government and State Chairmen of the Party. The letter is self-explanatory.”

The senator, a two-term lawmaker and Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Administration, has been a key figure in the PDP from Adamawa State. His exit comes amid ongoing discussions about internal challenges within the party.

No immediate information was available on his future political plans or any potential new affiliation.
