💔 Disturbing scenes have emerged from South Africa as Black foreigners, especially fellow Africans, are reportedly being attacked and told to return to their countries to “fix them.” Videos circulating online have sparked outrage and sadness across the continent.

It is deeply painful to see Africans turning against one another in this manner. Many of these foreigners moved in search of safety, better opportunities, or a chance to support their families back home. Instead of finding hope, some are being met with hostility, fear, and violence.
Africa has a shared history of struggle, resilience, and unity. For decades, different nations stood together during difficult times, supporting one another through colonialism, apartheid, and economic hardship. That spirit of brotherhood should not be forgotten today.

While every country has the right to address unemployment, crime, or immigration concerns, violence and hate can never be the solution. Innocent people should not become targets because of their nationality.
Leaders, communities, and citizens must speak up against xenophobia and promote peace, dialogue, and cooperation. Africans need each other now more than ever. Dividing ourselves only weakens the continent.
