Police arrest two suspected Yoruba nation agitators over Oyo gov’s office invasion

Two suspected Yoruba Nation agitators, on Saturday, were arrested by the security personnel for their alleged role in the invasion of the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi in Ibadan, the state capital.

Earlier, some Yoruba Nation agitators had, on Saturday morning, invaded the Secretariat and took over some parts of the area.

An old man with grey air and a middle-aged man bearing Yoruba Nation flags whose identities could not be confirmed as of press time were arrested by the police

Eyewitnesses told PUNCH Online correspondent that the suspects were armed with amulets and some charms while singing solidarity songs claiming they wanted the Yoruba Nation.

The Security operatives did not allow reporters to interview them but the aged man was heard claiming he was the father of the Yoruba Nation.

The suspects have been taken to the State Police Command in Eleyele, Ibadan, for further questioning.
