Bwala made the remarks in a post on his official X handle on Thursday while reacting to a cartoon depicting him holding a glass of water and explaining the importance of context during a recent interview with Mendi Hasan.
He stressed that context is crucial when discussing politics and governance, noting that people often interpret situations differently.
“I love this picture. Whoever did it, tried. Intellectuals know context matters when discussing issues of politics and governance. It is either you are looking at life as half full or half empty,” he wrote.
According to him, progressives understand that challenges are part of development.
“Progressives believe context matters, because you will be confronted with problems; no progress without process,” he said.

Bwala went on to criticise Obi’s supporters, describing their outlook as pessimistic.
“It is only Peter Obi and his Trojans that see everything as half empty; that is why they are disillusioned, disgruntled and confused,” he said.
He added that a positive outlook reflects hope, while a negative one signals pessimism.
“May your journey in life be half full rather than half empty; because half full depicts hope, while half empty depicts Obidients,” he added.
