Miller, who is the wife of John-Paul Miller, was found dead on April 27 in Robeson County, North Carolina, which is an hour and a half away from her home in Myrtle Beach.

Her death was confirmed the following day by John-Paul, who told his congregation at Solid Rock Church she had died from suicide.

The shocking announcement and John-Paul’s strange on-stage behaviors sparked concern among family and friends, but he was never named a person of interest.

On Monday, Robeson County Medical Examiner Dr. Richard Johnson confirmed Miller died from a single gunshot wound in Lumbee River State Park, and said it was self-inflicted.

“It was not in the back of the head, as it has been speculated,” he said, according to ABC affiliate WPDE.

John-Paul previously said in interviews that Miller struggled with mental health issues and had suicidal ideations in the past.

“Each time we would help her through it and take her to the doctor, and we got through it and everything was fine,” he told WPDE.

“She battled suicide, but God took care of her and got her through it.”

Earlier Monday, it was revealed Miller told police she believed she was being stalked and feared for her life weeks before her death.

On March 11, Miller called the cops because her tires were slashed for the second time in a week, she told police.

Excerpt from Mica’s obituary

Mica was energetic, affirming, adventurous, faithful, loving, giving, forgiving, talented, joyous, creative, assertive, bold, determined, authoritative, passionate, hardworking, a risk taker, and so much more. She and JP have been friends since 2009, married in 2017, and spent almost every single day and night together. Mica loved her little dog, Loki. She loved doing outdoor activities like waterfall repelling, hiking, skydiving, running, and going to the beach. Mica would take on any challenge, even if it was being a vegan for an entire year. Mica was a great stepmother, and an amazing wife and helpmate. She helped Pastor JP with the church in every way. Mica was the worship leader, graphics designer, youth leader, women’s ministry leader, and Pastor’s assistant. And she did all of this with the upmost integrity and faithfulness. Mica made the greatest of efforts to always be the best wife she could be.

Later that day when she was getting her tire replaced, she found a tracking device glued to her car, a police report seen by NBC affiliate WFLA reveals.

Miller had an idea of who was “following or watching her,” and said he had a “history of similar actions against her.”

Officials never named the suspect, and wrote that they didn’t have enough evidence to press charges against him.

Miller filed for a restraining order against this person before her death, according to police.

CHURCH MYSTERY

John-Paul has been suspended from Solid Rock Church, according to a memo seen by WPDE, and the church’s website has gone dark.

In his last sermon, John-Paul said he would be taking a break for an unforeseen amount of time and asked for prayer.

Speaking to a local station, he described Miller as “the greatest wife anyone could ask for.”

“She was incredibly affirming. We spent every night together for hours just talking and talking and talking,” he told WPDE.

Friends and family continue to ask for “justice” and hosted a memorial for Miller on Sunday.

They gathered in front of Solid Rock for a rally and said they were spreading awareness for domestic violence.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Solid Rock for comment.
