A video circulating on social media has captured a recent altercation involving renowned NRL journalist Paul Kent outside the popular Sydney venue, Totti’s Rozelle.
The footage depicts a heated exchange between Kent and another individual, escalating into a physical scuffle on the streets outside the establishment.
During the incident, Kent can be seen removing his watch before engaging in a physical confrontation with the other man, resulting in both parties trading punches and falling onto the road.
Amid the commotion, Kent is heard directing derogatory language towards the other individual, calling him a ‘dog’ and a ‘doghead’.
NSW Police have confirmed non-involvement in the incident and were unaware of the video until alerted by media inquiries.
In December last year, Kent was cleared of domestic violence charges following a trial where he was accused of assaulting his ex-partner, Lucy Kennedy, at his Lilyfield residence.
The allegations included claims of Kent throwing Kennedy to the ground and choking her, resulting in injuries to her neck, arms, and hand.
Magistrate Daniel Reiss, after a two-day hearing, found Kent not guilty of common assault, intentional choking, and assault causing bodily harm, citing insufficient evidence to substantiate the accusations.
Kent rejoined his hosting duties on Fox Sports‘ NRL 360 in March after a prolonged absence during the trial proceedings, expressing relief at the court’s ruling.
Following his vindication, Kent emphasized the toll the trial had taken on his reputation and personal life, highlighting the challenges he faced during the legal ordeal.
The recent street altercation involving Kent outside Totti’s Rozelle has stirred fresh attention, raising questions about the journalist’s public image and conduct despite being cleared of previous legal accusations.
