The National Institute for Security Studies has commended the Kaduna State Government for what it described as significant progress in restoring peace through a coordinated and inclusive security framework.
The commendation was given during a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna, on Sunday by participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 19, Syndicate 4, as part of their study tour.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Uduak Uduak-Ituen said the visit was aimed at bridging theoretical knowledge with practical realities in security management.
She noted that insights from the state’s approach would strengthen research and inform recommendations for Nigeria’s security architecture.
According to her, the progress recorded under the “Kaduna Peace Model” had earned the state governor, Uba Sani, national recognition, including the 2026 Governor of the Year award.
“The recognition speaks volumes about your commitment to security, inclusive governance and people-centred development in Kaduna State,” she said.
Responding, Sani said the state’s experience showed that sustainable security goes beyond enforcement, stressing the importance of intelligence, trust and inclusion.
“Through intelligence-led operations, strengthened inter-agency synergy, and sustained community engagement, we have recorded tangible progress in restoring peace and public confidence,” he said.

He added that the administration had adopted a holistic approach linking security interventions with socio-economic development.
“Security is inseparable from development. Where opportunity is absent, instability often takes root,” he said.
Sani also described the visit as timely, noting that it provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange and policy reflection.
The Executive Intelligence Management Course is a flagship programme of the institute designed to equip senior security officers with strategic skills for addressing complex threats.
Kaduna State has in recent years implemented a multi-pronged security strategy combining military operations, intelligence gathering, and community engagement to tackle banditry, kidnapping and communal conflicts, widely referred to as the Kaduna Peace Model.
