Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido’s alleged American side chick, Anita Brown, has issued an apology for the defamatory comments and claims she made against the singer’s wife, Chioma Rowland. Brown, a businesswoman and model based in the United States, admitted that her heartbreak contributed to her reaction, and she went too far in expressing her anger.
Brown stated that she met Davido in Dubai in 2017 and had an on-again, off-again relationship until the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. In June, she accused the singer of impregnating her and pressuring her to terminate the pregnancy, but Davido has not addressed the allegations thus far.
In a statement on her official Instagram page, Brown expressed regret for allowing her pain and feelings of betrayal to turn her against another woman. She apologized to Chioma and explained that she spoke ill of Chioma and her late son, Ifeanyi, in her anger, though it was never her intention from the start.
Brown revealed that she was going through a traumatic and tragic time but preferred not to discuss it or engage in further controversy. She stated that going forward, she wants to focus on bringing light into the world and promoting peace and love.
Previously, Brown had made shocking comments about Davido, his late son, and his wife, Chioma. On June 28th, she claimed that she did not want Davido and revealed that she was unaware he was married. Brown alleged that Chioma had an affair with Peruzzi, Davido’s friend, and suggested that their marriage was merely a facade to enhance the singer’s reputation.
In a series of screenshots, Brown shared conversations with Davido in which he pleaded with her to stop, but she refused to be silenced. She also made allegations about Chioma sleeping with Clark Adeleke, Davido’s brother, and claimed that Clark had asked her to have an abortion and flew her to see him.
Brown targeted Chioma further by alleging that Davido had physically abused his wife. She shared several screenshots of news stories with headlines about the alleged domestic violence, urging Chioma to leave the unhealthy relationship.
In response, Brown wrote multiple comments expressing her disgust at Davido’s alleged behavior and advised Chioma to free herself from the abusive situation. She accused him of being a woman beater and described him as a liar, manipulator, and control freak. She also asserted that he did not care about Chioma or their deceased child and that their marriage was only for maintaining his image.
