Nigeria records N8.65tn revenue in three quarters of 2023 – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says Nigeria generated N8.65 trillion in revenue from January to September, first to third quarters of 2023.

Tinubu disclosed this on Wednesday in his 2024 budget presentation to the National Assembly.

Speaking on the 2023 budget performance, the President said the country achieved 96 percent of its revenue target for the three quarters of 2023.

He noted that the country targets N18.32 trillion in revenue in 2024, higher than this year’s N11.045 trillion revenue forecast.

“As of September 30, the Federal Government’s actual aggregate revenue inflow was N8.65 trillion, approximately 96 per cent of the targeted N8.28 trillion. Despite the challenges, we continue to meet our obligations”.

“The forecast revenue is now N18.32 trillion, higher than the 2023 revenues, including that provided in the two supplementary budgets”.

DAILY POST reports that Tinubu presented the N27.5 trillion 2024 annual budget to the National Assembly on Wednesday.
