Niger PDP LG Chairmen Endorse Bomi For National Chair

The 25 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government chairmen in Niger State have lined up behind Kauran Lapai and former governorship aspirant, Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi, as their preferred candidate for the national chairman of the party.

The chairmen unanimously lent their support at a forum held yesterday in Minna by the PDP chairmen and Alhaji Bomi as part of the consultation ahead of the convention.

The three local government chairmen from the senatorial zones said their support was total, considering the fact that Niger State is the only state in the North Central that has not produced a national chairman, while promising to mobilise their colleagues across the country for the project.

The chairman of the party from Gbako local government area Abdullahi Ibrahim speaking on behalf of Niger south said the aspiration of Bomi will afford the state the opportunity to get a shot at the position of national chairman.

Also, the chairman of the party from Shiroro local government area, Hon Garba Kuta, speaking on behalf Niger East chairmen posited that with the commitment Bomi have shown, they have no option than to support him.

The chairman of the party from Magama local government area, Alhaji Bala Abdullahi speaking on behalf of Niger North chairmen said the 25 local government chairmen endorsed Bomi for national chairman for his capacity, equity and commitment to the growth of the party.

Responding, Bomi lauded the chairmen assuring that their support was germane as he began his consultations ahead of the national convention where the National Working Committee of the party will be elected.

He said with their endorsement his consultation has started on a good note adding that he was optimistic that the party will grow stronger under his watch if given the opportunity.
