Scotland’s political landscape faced a new twist as Peter Murrell, the husband of former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, was rearrested by Police Scotland in connection with the ongoing investigation into the finances of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
Murrell, who previously served as the SNP’s chief executive for 22 years, had been initially arrested in April 2023 at his home in Glasgow but was released later that day pending further inquiry.
