The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has invited Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to join its platform and contest the 2027 presidential election.
In a post on X on Sunday, the party said the two politicians have a two-week window to defect and secure its presidential and vice presidential ticket.
“All we need right now. Just all we need. 2 weeks to deadline,” the party wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The post featured an image of Obi shaking hands with Senator Kwankwaso, with the caption: “Nigeria will be OK”.
The development comes days after supporters of the two politicians launched the “OK Movement” to mobilise support for a possible joint ticket ahead of 2027.

National Publicity Secretary of the movement, Justin Ijeh, had announced appointments into its national, zonal and state structures.
Both politicians are former governors and chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which is currently facing a leadership crisis.
The crisis is before the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which has reserved judgment in a suit involving David Mark and Nafiu Bala Gombe over the party’s leadership.
