The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has stepped up its aerial offensive against insurgents in the North-East, carrying out precision strikes on terrorist enclaves in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest, with multiple fighters reportedly killed.
The operation, conducted by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI on Monday, targeted fortified positions believed to house active terrorist elements.
Confirming the development on Tuesday, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strikes were based on credible intelligence backed by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), which identified террорист presence within bunkers and defensive structures.

Ejodame added that post-strike Battle Damage Assessment verified the scale of destruction inflicted on the enclaves.
He noted that the sustained air campaign has continued to weaken insurgent networks, forcing them into disarray under mounting military pressure.
”The sustained tempo of air operations continues to degrade terrorist networks, leaving the terrorists increasingly exposed and disrupted, with mounting pressure forcing them into desperate and reactive actions.”
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, was quoted as reaffirming the force’s determination to maintain momentum in the fight against insurgency.
”We remain committed to the protection of our personnel, the security of our nation, and the safety of all citizens.
”The NAF will continue to intensify precision engagements across the theatre, maintaining decisive operational pressure while adhering strictly to rules of engagement and minimising civilian harm,” Aneke said.
