Defence Headquarters says it has concluded the investigation of 16 military officers arrested in October 2025 over alleged coup plot.

The officers were accused of acts of indiscipline and breaches of service regulations, including a plot to overthrow the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.
Military authorities, in a statement on Monday by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, said the report of the investigation had been forwarded to the appropriate authorities in line with existing military regulations.
The statement said the findings showed that some of the officers were involved in activities inconsistent with the ethics and professional standards of the military, including allegations of attempting to undermine constitutional authority.
The statement partly read, “The comprehensive investigation process, conducted in accordance with established military procedures, has carefully examined all circumstances surrounding the conduct of the affected personnel.
