Lagos PDP Urges Prayers For Safe Release Of Abducted Chairman, Aivoji

The Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for prayers from Nigerians, especially those in the South-West, for the safe release of its abducted Chairman, Mr. Philip Aivoji.

In a statement issued on Friday in Lagos, the PDP State Secretary, Mr. Soji Orioye, described the abducted chairman as elderly and frail, expressing concern over his well being.

Orioye stressed the importance of Aivoji’s role as a significant political leader in Lagos State and stated that the party expects the relevant authorities to treat his abduction with urgency.

“Hon. Philip Olabode Aivoji is an elderly and frail man. We are using this opportunity to solicit your prayers and intervention in any way to facilitate his safe release from his abductors for a healthy reunion with his family,” Orioye said.

“We believe the abduction of Hon. Phillip Aivoji should not be treated lightly. We call on the security agencies for swift intervention for his safe release, as this will further reinforce the public’s confidence in the effectiveness of our security apparatus.

“We are imploring the good people of Lagos State and the South-West zone to continue to keep him in their prayers for God’s quick intervention and to ensure that Hon. Phillip Aivoji, the Lagos State PDP Chairman, is safely released to his family,.”

Orioye revealed that Aivoji was abducted by gunmen while returning to Lagos from the PDP South-West Stakeholders meeting held on Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident was witnessed by Chief Wole Adedapo, the State Treasurer of the party, who fortunately escaped the abduction. (NAN)
