Kogi Central Senate Race: Senator Ogembe Receives INEC Form, Pledges to Strengthen Connection Between People and Leadership

Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe has expressed gratitude to the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after formally receiving his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Form EC9 as the party’s candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

In a statement issued in Okene on Sunday, Ogembe described the milestone as a reflection of the trust and collective commitment of the people of Kogi Central toward what he called a better future for the district. He thanked God for what he termed the guidance and strength that had sustained him through his political journey.

Looking ahead, Ogembe called for unity and reconciliation within the party, saying the challenges facing Kogi Central communities required collective action. He said his focus would be on service, accountability and strengthening the connection between leadership and the people, adding that there are “no permanent winners or losers in politics — only a lasting responsibility to the people.

“The journey continues. The greater assignment has begun,” Ogembe said in closing.

He singled out ADC National Chairman, Sen. David Mark, for what he described as visionary leadership and a commitment to strengthening the party as a platform for credible leadership. He also commended Senator Tunde Ogbeha for efforts he said had promoted peace and unity within the party in Kogi State, and acknowledged Engr. Sam Uhoutu for contributions he said had helped build the ADC’s foundation in Kogi Central.

Ogembe further praised the Kogi State ADC Chairman, Hon. Tom Zekeri, for providing what he called direction and stability for the party’s structure in the state.

He extended appreciation to party leaders, elders, stakeholders and supporters across Kogi Central, saying their prayers and belief in his candidacy had been a source of inspiration.

He also acknowledged fellow aspirants in the process, noting that despite differing ambitions, they remained united by a shared goal of progress for their communities. Leadership, he said, should be measured not only by electoral victory but by character, humility and service.
