The DA in KZN has criticized the ANC for potentially using the King and the Royal Household as pawns in political games. They emphasize that the King should be the subject of the Legislature, not the other way around. Calls have been made by the DA for the Legislature to engage directly with His Majesty on sustainable solutions, such as creating a self-sustainable commercial agricultural industry on the King’s land. This, they argue, would reduce the dependency of the Royal Household on the Legislature and empower them to make their own decisions.
