Kelechi Iheanacho Reflects on Leicester City’s Impressive Away Win Against Blackburn Rovers

Leicester City continued their impressive start to the new season with a dominant 4-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, and star striker Kelechi Iheanacho shared his thoughts on the team’s performance.

Iheanacho, who scored the Foxes’ third goal of the game, expressed his satisfaction with the result. It was his first league goal of the campaign, marking a significant moment for the Nigeria international.

The match also saw his fellow international teammate, Wilfred Ndidi, contribute with an assist to further solidify Leicester’s strong performance.

The win allowed Leicester City to open up a two-point advantage at the top of the Sky Bet Championship, showcasing their early dominance in the league.

Reflecting on the game, Iheanacho acknowledged the challenge that Blackburn Rovers posed. He commented, “We started well and we scored, but they are a very good side with the ball. We had a tough time in the first half. We suffered a lot, but we were up 2-1.”

Despite the difficult first half, Iheanacho highlighted the team’s resilience and their ability to control the game in the second half. He said, “It was a strong game, but in the second half, we controlled more, and we nailed them in the counter-attacks and got the goals that we wanted.”

The striker also noted Blackburn Rovers’ movement on the pitch, emphasizing that the team had prepared for their opponents by analyzing them extensively. He said, “They move a lot. We watched them a lot on the video, so we knew that. We tried to control the situation, but unfortunately, they got back in the game. We stayed calm and continued working hard.”

Leicester City’s perseverance paid off as they secured a convincing win, with Iheanacho adding, “We kept going to earn the second goal. It was a really tough game for us, but I think we controlled it more in the second half. It was a great team performance.”
