The Kansas City Chiefs have officially listed tight end Travis Kelce as questionable for their upcoming Thursday night game against the Broncos. This announcement was made on Wednesday through their final injury report of the week. Kelce, who injured his right ankle during Sunday’s victory over the Vikings, was a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice, which was the only practice session for the Chiefs this week.
Despite his injury, Kelce returned to the game in the second half and even caught a touchdown pass. The quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, referred to Kelce’s performance against the Vikings as “legendary.” When Coach Andy Reid was asked about Kelce’s response to the injury, he mentioned that he had received extensive treatment and was feeling slightly better.
Reid further stated, “I’m going to just see how he moves around, how he feels. He’s always been honest with me on things like that, so we’ll just see how he does.” The Chiefs will assess Kelce’s movement and overall condition before making a final decision on his availability for Thursday night’s game against the Broncos.
In addition to Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have also listed starting defensive end George Karlaftis and punter Tommy Townsend as questionable due to a hamstring injury and a left knee injury, respectively. On a positive note, linebacker Nick Bolton, who has been out since Week 2 because of an ankle injury, will return to the Chiefs’ lineup.
