Kano gov to swear in new deputy governor Tuesday

The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, is set to swear in the new Deputy Governor, Murtala Garo, on Tuesday.

This was contained in an official notice issued on Monday by the Special Adviser on Information to the state governor, Ibrahim Adam, announcing details of the ceremony.

According to the notice, the event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Coronation Hall of the Government House, Kano.

The ceremony is expected to commence at 11:00am.

The government called on political stakeholders and residents to attend the event, which marks a significant development in the state’s political leadership.

Also confirming the development to The PUNCH in a telephone interview on Monday, a close associate of Garo, Aminu Dahiru Ahmed, said the swearing-in would hold as scheduled.

“Maybe you may have come across it that the swearing-in will be tomorrow morning. The governor has already invited stakeholders, party loyalists and members of the public to attend the ceremony,” he said.
